Homemade paint supplies on a budget

How to make homemade paint for artwork projects

As teachers, we often spend a lot of our own money on classroom supplies and it all adds up over time. So we’ve collected our favourite homemade paint supplies that will hopefully ease the pressure on your wallet.

They may not be as effective or as good quality as brand name products, but it’ll certainly be fun to experiment. Your class could get involved too, easing your daily workload.

We have only provided a brief overview of how to make each one so be sure to visit the source for more information.

Water Colour Paint

1. Mix 1/2 cup baking soda, 1/4 cup cornstarch, 1/4 cup white vinegar, 1 teaspoon corn syrup into a pourable container.
2. Pop into a muffin tray, ice cube tray or separate containers.
3. Mix in a few drops of food colouring into each container to make different colours.
