Coursera is a website that provides free access to the world’s best education. With no money needed, the only thing it requires is your time and dedication — you learn on your own schedule at you own pace.

Each course provides short video lectures, interactive quizzes and peer graded assessments to help you complete your goal. When you finish a course (congratulations!), you receive official recognition from the university, and in some cases, a verified certificate.

Although most courses are on-demand, some have specific start/end dates that you need to follow. This is outlined in the course description so make sure you have the available time required. Many have start dates during the summer holidays, so they’re a great option for teachers looking to acquire new skills. They won’t take over your life either, as most courses only need a couple of hours a week for studying.

There are over 2000 courses available and they cover a huge range of subjects, including Biology, Computer Science, Education, Health and Nutrition. All of these are provided by top institutions from around the world, so you know you’re in good hands.
